Frequently Asked Questions

Where can I purchase OC Eight?

OC Eight is available through Dermatologists and other qualified skin care professionals. Please refer to our Physician Search page for OC Eight retailers in your area.

I have tried so many different "shine control" products. How is OC Eight different?

OC Eight represents a new level of shine control. Products like powders and blotting papers may only provide temporary shine control and astringents may irritate sensitive skin. OC Eight works mechanically to invisibly hold oil off of your face throughout the day, without causing irritation.

How do the ACRYSORB® micro-particles in OC Eight work?

ACRYSORB® is designed to mechanically "trap" facial oil after it comes out of your pores. OC Eight works on contact so it traps oil as fast as it is produced, giving you continuous shine control throughout the day.

How do I apply OC Eight for the best results?

Simply wash your face with a gentle cleanser. Apply your daily sunscreen and any medications. When your face is dry to the touch apply a thin layer of OC Eight Mattifying Gel. Finish by applying oil-free make-up as desired.

How will OC Eight effect my make-up?

In a clinical study OC Eight was proven to help make-up maintain that "just applied" look for up to eight hours. By applying OC Eight prior to your facial foundations or powders you will have a more even-toned look through the day.

After I start using OC Eight when will I notice results?

OC Eight goes to work immediately! You will notice a difference the very first time you try OC Eight.

I have "combination skin." Will OC Eight control facial shine without drying my skin?

Yes. The ACRYSORB® micro-particles in OC Eight are specifically designed to absorb the excess oil from your face. OC Eight will not compromise your skin's natural hydration.

Will OC Eight clog my pores?

No! In fact, in a clinical study where women applied OC Eight daily for four weeks, there was a trend towards fewer blackheads.

Is OC Eight colored or tinted?

Neither. OC Eight is a clear mattifying gel and acts as a great mattifier with or without make-up.

Do I need a prescription from my doctor for OC Eight?

No, OC Eight is not a prescription product, but it can only be purchased from a dermatologist or other qualified skin care professional.

What if I do not have a dermatologist?

We encourage everyone to visit a dermatologist or other qualified skin care professional for the best advice on how to care for your skin. Please visit the Physician Search page to find a physician in your area. You do not need an appointment to purchase OC Eight.

Is OC Eight safe to use if I have acne or rosacea?

Yes! In fact, OC Eight has been proven to help reduce the appearance of redness and minor blemishes associated with adult acne/rosacea. OC Eight does not contain an active ingredient so it will not interfere with any topical medications.

Does OC Eight have a sunscreen in it?

Although OC Eight is not formulated with a sunscreen it will not affect the SPF factor in your daily sunscreen.

Can I wear a moisturizer with OC Eight?

Yes. We recommend applying a water-based moisturizer with a minimum of SPF 15 before applying OC Eight during your daily skincare routine.

What happens if I wash my face during the day, is OC Eight waterproof?

OC Eight is not waterproof. As soon as you wash your face, the micro-particles containing the absorbed oil are washed away. Feel free to reapply OC Eight after washing your face during the day or night.

Can I wear OC Eight when I exercise?

Yes. And although OC Eight has no effect on perspiration it will help reduce that "greasy" feeling once you are done working out.

I have dry skin, would I be able to wear OC Eight to achieve a matte finish on my face?

OC Eight, although designed to control excess facial shine, can be used by anyone to create a great matte finish and beautifully clear skin. Because OC Eight will not chemically dry your skin, OC Eight works where you need it to — not where you don't.
